Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Wandori Labs ("Wandori," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Wandori mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Beta notice. Wandori is currently offered as a pre-release beta through Apple TestFlight. Our data practices may evolve as the Service develops, and we will update this policy accordingly.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and a display name or handle. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive basic profile information from those providers (see Section 4).
- Profile information. Any profile photo or details you choose to add.
- User content. The photos, videos, captions, and other content you create and post through the Service.
- Communications. Information you provide when you contact us for support.
1.2 Precise location
Wandori is a location-based service. With your permission, we collect your device's precise location at the time you capture and publish a post, in order to verify and associate that content with a real place. We also use your location to show you nearby content, to power discovery and the AI itinerary planner, and to display distance information. We request location access through your device's standard permission prompt, and you can change or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings. Browsing much of the Service is possible without granting location access, but posting requires a location fix, because location verification is central to how Wandori works.
1.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information. Basic technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version, and how you interact with the Service, used to operate and improve the app and to diagnose issues.
- Identifiers. Identifiers used to keep you signed in and to secure your account.
Wandori does not currently include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not use tracking for advertising purposes.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including your account and your content;
- verify that posted content is associated with a real place;
- surface nearby and relevant content, power discovery, and generate itinerary suggestions;
- enable social features such as viewing, liking, saving, reporting, and blocking;
- communicate with you about your account, security, and updates;
- maintain the safety and integrity of the Service, including detecting abuse, fraud, and attempts to falsify location; and
- comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:
- With other users. Content you post — including its associated place and, depending on the feature, distance information — is visible to other users of the Service. Your display name and profile are visible as part of your public presence on Wandori.
- With service providers. We use trusted third-party infrastructure providers to host and operate the Service, including cloud database and authentication services, media storage and delivery, and transactional email delivery. These providers process information on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wandori, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer. If Wandori is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
4. Third-party sign-in
If you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, those providers authenticate you and share a limited set of profile information (such as name and email, or a private relay email in the case of Apple) so we can create and secure your account. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We use this information only to provide the Service.
5. Your choices and rights
- Location. You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
- Access and deletion. You can delete your account, and with it your associated content, from Profile → Settings → Account Management → Delete Account. See Section 6 for how deletion is processed.
- Content. You can delete individual posts you have created.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you request account deletion, your account is deactivated and permanently deleted after a scheduled 30-day window, during which you may cancel by signing back in. After permanent deletion, we remove your personal information and content from active systems, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, and except for residual copies that may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls at the database level. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us promptly.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. International users
Wandori is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other reasonable means. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
